A Solitary Witch

I started doing research on this first project and decided since I could not decide on just one or two traditions so I decided to write about being a solitary practitioner, A Solitary Witch. For me being solitary gives me the power and the ease of being able to enjoy my pagan life and not have to worry about specific group meetings.
Solitary’s work alone and tend to pull many different traditions into one. Many of these choose what they like from the traditions that they choose. Being able to choose the beliefs carried by many different pagans and blend them into my own personal relationship with the deities that I have chosen gives me the freedoms I didn’t have when I tried to follow the Christian faith. I tend to lean on several different branches in pagan life ranging from working with the four elements, spirit guides, and many different deities to fit my needs.
One might say it is a very lonely life but as I see it as comfortable for the time, I could change my mind and that is what is great about working as a solitary witch I can do things at will and not at the discretion of someone telling me one way or another.
During my research I found that many people feel that you’re less of a witch if you practice solitary, I feel that is not the case at all. I feel we all can be witches and love the Lord and Lady the same.
Traditions that spark my interest are Appalachian Granny Magick, Correllian, Celtic, Faery Wicca (Stepanich), Fairy Tradition, Egyptian Magick and countless others. My goal is to combine all the traditions I like and perhaps one day created my own standing tradition.
